I saw storks for the first time when I was in my teens on the Austrian/Hungarian border region. I was fascinated by their huge stature and precarious nests atop the roofs and poles in the area. I then only saw them again when we started to travel overland to Portugal and rediscovered my fascination. Apart from the stars of the show, I also liked the ‘rule of thirds’ here with the lines of trees, grass and bare earth.
